Each photograph in the Sentient Imagery collection is available for commercial licensing, allowing you to use authentic images of rural New Zealand in your own marketing, publications and digital storytelling. Every licence directly supports independent agricultural photography in Aotearoa.

  • Can I request images if I can't find the ones I need?
    Cristy offers a bespoke stock image service at no extra cost. Whether you need a specific breed, crop or landscape, Cristy will discuss your specific requirement and head out in her gumboots to get it for you.  You'll then have first option as to whether you'd like an exclusive licence, or are happy for it to appear in the public gallery available to others to license.

  • Can I use these images outside New Zealand?
    Yes! You can license Sentient Imagery photographs for use anywhere in the world.  Most clients are New Zealand based agricultural brands, but international companies and publications are welcome too. 

  • What does a 'digital licence' mean?
    A digital licence gives you permission to use an image for online or screen-based purposes such as websites, social media, e-newsletters, or presentations.  You don't own the image - you're purchasing the right to use it under agreed conditions.

  • Do I need to credit Sentient Imagery when I use the photo?
    A credit isn't required for licensed commercial use, but it's always appreciated.  If you'd like to include one, please use "© Sentient Imagery – Cristy Benson".

  • What if I want to be the only one who uses a particular image?
    That's possible. You can request an exclusive licence, which removes the image from public availability for the term of your agreement.  Just get in touch for a kōrero to discuss pricing and duration.

  • Can I modify or crop the images?
    Yes! Light edits such as cropping, colour balance or overlaying text are fine, provided they don't distort the image's integrity.  For major edits, please contact Cristy for approval.

  • How will I receive my licensed  image?
    After purchase, you'll receive a high-resolution file download link, ready for your intended use.  Larger or bespoke formats can be supplied by request.
